Thanks to Mummy and Daddy Jones, we managed to get out on the road today to try out the fab bikes we bought months ago. And it was great to cycle on the road, not in a dining room on an exercise bike.
Our route took us out of Royston, up the A1198 to Bassingbourn, then on to Wendy before turning left to Abbington Piggots, Littlington and then back towards Bassingbourn.
Or that was the plan. However I had the 'genius' idea of going down the public bridleway from the Bassingbourn Road to Baldock Road.
BIG MISTAKE. Such a bumpy, horrible route. And totally not the type of terrain we will be facing. At least our bikes were suited to that kind of route.
Apart from the bridleway bit (and trying to avoid the trains when crossing the track by the Little Chef) it was great.
Only 12 miles, but we all have to start somewhere.
Please help us in our challenge.
